SAVANNAH – Mrs. Lillian M. “Dolly” Becton, age 89, died April 15, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Edward DeMine, Sr. and Agnes M. Hajas DeMine. She moved to Savannah at the age of 18 and lived also in Brunswick and Stone Mountain, GA.

Dolly was a talented and award winning artist and craftsperson. She was also a fabulous cook, a seamstress, an avid gardener and teacher, eager and willing to share her talents. She was an accomplished hostess of parties that featured her famous Brunswick Stew.

She was preceded in death by her one love, husband Charles J. Becton, her son, Chris Becton, her sister, Frances Johnson, and brothers, Edward J., Jr., Robert, and Charles “Gus” DeMine.

She is survived by her son, C. David Becton of Savannah; grandson, Matt Becton of Athens, GA; granddaughter, Sarah Becton of San Francisco, CA; and a brother, Thomas DeMine, Sr. and his wife Rose Marie of Savannah.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
